What a great feeling knowing that my pal Mel and his frau Irene were able to drop by onboard for a few days. We have been packing in as much as we can with the hours we are together. I don’t know who was more excited to see Mel n Irene Sasha or me? She was wagging her tail like a demon, she missed Mel’s lap I guess.
As usual our visit was to be short and sweet.
The first evening of arrival it was dinner, chat and catch up time. The next day Sunday we headed of as tourists to Brighton.
Any visitor to Brighton cannot miss Brighton Pier
Then it was off to “The Lanes” a very interesting and unique shopping area of Old Brighton. Reminiscent of the Souks of the Middle east. Loads of shops, stalls, Tarot, Palm readers and cafes. We found what I feel is absolutely wonderful a Dog Café.
After the Lanes we decided to pop into my old pub in Shoreham, The Duke of Wellington” where a Ukelelefest was in progress.
A toast to Old Friends new Friends and Absent Friends.
The dogs are now at home and we walk to Dinner at a 350 year old Pub. Now an Indian Restaurant.
On the Monday Limey and I headed to Uxbridge to turn in his VW, a sad event I am sure I saw a tear in Mel’s eye. While we were away Irene walked about Shoreham here are a few pics from her walkabout.
After a Lovely day it was off for Dinner at a Local Pub then home to pack and relax…perhaps a G&T ? Who knows.
Then it was “Goodnight Irene Goodnight Irene” a good sleep then a drive to Heathrow. Fare the well my friends.
